《夏午》導演  何蔚庭  的話:

在報章上看到關於青少年殺人的報導,我常常很好奇人怎麼會到達這種極限?每個人都有潛在的殺人本性嗎?這殺人本性是一直醞釀在潛意識裡,還是會出奇不意的發作?編寫和籌備“夏午”的過程裡,我腦海中一直在幻想殺人的橋段:從當下動手殺人的那一刻,整個殺人的過程,至殺人後繁瑣的收屍。當我不斷在幻想這些細節的時候,我突然發現一個殘酷的事實:我不只是拍電影,我正在彩排一場謀殺。

 

Reading stories of murder in the newspaper, especially murder committed by the young, I wonder how we reach that point of no return.  Do people have murder in their nature, hidden deep in the subconscious and planned in the back of our minds?  Or can it come out of nowhere?  And if so, which is scarier?  Throughout the making of Summer Afternoon, I’ve lived through every moment of a spontaneous murder—from the first violent taunts, to the act, to the aftermath of cleaning a bloodied, lifeless friend.  And in visualizing all such details, I came to the chilling realization that it’s not just a film but is my rehearsal for murder.
